Reactions: Super fun! Now I get all the hype

I’d heard all about this movie on Netflix that was taking the world by storm. #1 movie on Netflix. A song from the show that was topping the charts. I had no idea what to expect but I knew I had to watch it. And I’m really glad I did!

It took me about half way through the movie to get in sync with the anime vibes. But once I did, I loved it. And I’ll always be down to enjoy anything that’s fantasy or Asian mystical lore (Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite animated films of all time). So this movie was right up my alley.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the songs, but in the end I was digging them. Keep in mind, I don’t listen to anything with actual verses and choruses (I’m a House music head, so pop music samples are about as lyrical as I get). But these voices were stunning and the songs were catchy. They definitely were a vibe.

Now let’s get to it. The Saja Boys (the demon boy band) are SO FUCKING HOT. The main dude, Jinu, could totally get it, in both his human form and definitely his demon form. Abby (with the abs) could marry me, divorce me, and marry me again, and I’d keep saying yes. Yum.

I really don’t want to give anything away about the plot. But I’ll say this: It weaves mystical lore with popular music to create a refreshingly fun and novel story. I loved it. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but given that it’s now Netflix’s most watched movie ever, I have a hunch that most of y’all will enjoy it.

Oh and here’s the Saja Boys. Drool.
