I know they’re following the storylines from each of the books. But if that’s true, this book would have been a snooze fest.

As always, I’ll start with what I liked. The first episode opens with a bang. So much action so much forward movement. Loved it. I’ll always love Rand and his friends and their camaraderie which was on full display for the first few episodes.

I understand that they had to separate the merry band of friends so they could all go have their own adventures. But that made for a fractured show full of plots. And here’s my biggest criticism on that front: We often forgot why each plot matters to the central theme of Rand defeating The Dark One. They sort of mention it at the end of the battle of the trollocs so very briefly. I feel like it would have made that battle mean so much more if we’d known that ahead of time!

I fucking hated the final episode. I was so upset I wanted to throw up. I won’t spoil anything here. But I really didn’t need that sense of loss right before the giant gap until next season.
