Look, I’ve liked Invincible since I first read the comics upon their release all those years ago. And I’ve liked the show mostly. This season felt a little… odd.

Mostly it didn’t feel like a season connected by a story arc. Instead it felt more like a bunch of distinct episodes. Which is fiiiiiiine. But it lacked the connective tissue of a season-long story arc.

Here’s what didn’t work for me: ALL THE FUCKING KILLING. Dude, this season shows so much brutal bloodshed, death, murder, violence, and entire cities being obliterated. Every episode is like this. It almost felt like they were like they were trying to one-up The Boys and be as gory and shocking as possible. Which, honestly didn’t work for me.

If you watch this season, just heed my trigger warning. It’s so gory and brutal.
