Reactions: Snore, Whatever, Cute robots
Where to watch: Netflix
My reaction is about the same as everyone else reviewing this on the internet: Snooze fest. I did like the robots. They were cute and fun, and their CGI was cool. That’s it. That’s the one reason to watch this movie.
Chris Pratt was doing his Chris Pratt thing. Was he Andy (from Parks & Rec) or was he Starlord (from Guardians of the Galaxy) or was he Owen (from the Jurassic Park movies)? Who knows. Who cares.
I was bummed that Millie Bobby Brown was in this movie because it was so beneath her cult status earned from Stranger Things. But then again, I remembered that she was the star of Damsel, which was terrrrrrribbble. So again, whatever.
And even in the end, when the heroic story’s climax is upon us, suddenly it’s lost and it’s like oh well, now he’s dead. Moving on.
Was this a movie about familial bonds? Was it about robots as second class citizens? Was it about evil corporations destroying humanity? Hard to say because it tried to lean into all of the above.
Honestly, do yourself a favor and skip this movie.
