I liked Flow. It’s about cute animals bonding during a calamity. Cute. Sweet.

But, it felt like it was trying to do something it almost did but didn’t quite execute perfectly. Something, something, rebirth, renew, life is a cycle, yada yada.

Take for example, the injured crane as the shepherd of the crew, that was cool. Then it got pissed off when the dogs joined. Okay…? And then it transcends (ahem, dies). Odd but pretty. Felt like a weird loose end that was never explained.

I get it – it’s all a loose metaphor. But it didn’t really leave me thinking, “Wow, that was powerful.” But, then, it’s an animated film and probably largely targeted at kids.

I liked it. You probably will too. I didn’t love it, though.
