Does Julianne Moore ever fail to impress? I loved her in this. And Sebastian Stan was fantastic too. I enjoyed Sharper quite a lot. Add this to the list of quality A24 movies.

I loved the chapter-style storytelling technique. It starts out as a love story. Then there’s a plot twist and we jump to a different chapter to see the backstory of one of the two lovers. Then another twist and we see the backstory of yet another character. Eventually all the chapters reveal the grander scheme of things and the plot resolves into clearer picture for the viewer. But we don’t really know what’s happening until the final few moments of the movie.

There’s not a whole lot more to say without spoiling the plot or the plot twists. But I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it. I was a little surprised it only got a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes. It felt like a solid upper 70s or low 80s to me. Alas, I’m not a real movie critic. Just a dude who likes things and then likes to share about the things he likes. I hope you’ll enjoy Sharper as much as I did!
