Where to watch: Amazon Prime

I really enjoyed this 2020 series from Amazon. It’s a sci-fi series that’s set in a not-too-distant future with a 70s retro vibe. Each episode is self-contained, but they all revolve around a cast of characters living in a seemingly-Midwest town in which there’s an underground laboratory called The Loop. No one really knows what goes on down there, except that bizarre things seem to be the norm. Think time travel, alternate realities, flying vehicles, body swapping, advanced robotics, and more. The pace of the shows is slow and haunting, with so much attention given to sound and setting to create powerful moments. I loved it because it’s so different than the typical lasers and sapce ships sci-fi that usually gets green-lit. I highly recommend this one.
